The tour starts in Breisach and is going to follow the course that the 3rd Division took to get from the Vosges mountains to the bridges over the Rhine river. The tour includes the visit to a war museum, with many artefacts found in the area after the campaign. We also visit the starting point for the Americans in the Colmar Pocket Campaign, Mount Sigolsheim, where the American Memorial is located. It overlooks the battlefield, where I will describe the movements of the American forces and the events that took place. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the Audie Murphy Memorial in Holtzwihr, where he made his famous ‘one man stand‘, and as a result, became America's most highly decorated soldier in World War II.
